    Een asafdichting voor een wielnaaf is een afdichtingscomponent die tussen de roterende naaf en de as wordt gemonteerd. De functie ervan is om smeermiddel in de naaf te houden en te voorkomen dat vuil, water en andere verontreinigingen binnendringen, waardoor de wiellagers worden beschermd en een lange levensduur wordt gegarandeerd.

    Belangrijke specificaties zijn onder andere de binnen- en buitendiameter, de dikte, het materiaalsoort (bijv. NBR, FKM, PTFE) en het ontwerp van de afdichtingslip. De afdichting moet bestand zijn tegen rotatie, druk en omgevingsomstandigheden, doorgaans variërend van -40 °C tot +150 °C of hoger.
