    Een airconditioningcondensor is een warmtewisselaar die zich aan de voorkant van het voertuig bevindt, meestal in de buurt van de radiator. De functie ervan is om warmte af te geven aan het koelmiddel door het om te zetten van een gas onder hoge druk naar een vloeistof. Dit proces is essentieel voor het airconditioningsysteem om koude lucht in de cabine te produceren.


    Belangrijke specificaties zijn onder andere de afmetingen, het koelvermogen, het type aansluiting voor de koelmiddelleidingen en de compatibiliteit met het airconditioningsysteem van het voertuig. Condensatoren worden meestal van aluminium gemaakt voor een efficiënte warmteoverdracht en moeten bestand zijn tegen hoge druk, trillingen en temperatuurschommelingen die doorgaans variëren van -40 °C tot +120 °C.
