    Een aandrijfas is een mechanisch onderdeel dat rotatiekracht van de transmissie of het differentieel naar de wielen overbrengt. De functie ervan is om koppel efficiënt over te brengen en tegelijkertijd bewegingen van de ophanging en de besturing op te vangen, waardoor een soepele en betrouwbare voertuigbeweging wordt gegarandeerd.
