    FAQ

    Een gloeibougie is een verwarmingselement dat in dieselmotoren wordt gebruikt om het starten te vergemakkelijken. De functie ervan is om de lucht in de verbrandingskamer te verwarmen vóór en tijdens het starten van de motor, waardoor een goede ontsteking van het brandstof-luchtmengsel wordt gegarandeerd, vooral bij koude temperaturen. Dit verbetert de startprestaties, vermindert de uitstoot en zorgt voor een soepelere werking van de motor.


    Belangrijke specificaties zijn onder andere de spanning (doorgaans 4,4V–12V, afhankelijk van het systeem), de schroefdraadmaat (zoals M8, M10 of M12), de totale lengte, het type verwarmingselement (metaal of keramiek) en het type connector. Gloeibougies moeten bestand zijn tegen extreem hoge temperaturen (vaak boven de 800–1000°C) en snelle opwarmcycli, terwijl ze tegelijkertijd duurzaam en betrouwbaar blijven.


    Vervanging is nodig wanneer de gloeibougie defect raakt of minder efficiënt werkt.
