    Een hydraulisch filter voor een automatische transmissie is een filtercomponent die de transmissievloeistof reinigt door vuil, metaaldeeltjes en andere verontreinigingen te verwijderen. De functie ervan is ervoor te zorgen dat er schone vloeistof door het hydraulische systeem circuleert, waardoor interne componenten zoals kleppen, koppelingen en de transmissiepomp worden beschermd, en tegelijkertijd soepel schakelen en optimale prestaties worden gewaarborgd.


    Belangrijke specificaties zijn onder andere de filtratie-efficiëntie (micronwaarde), de doorstroomcapaciteit, het filterontwerp (intern of extern) en de compatibiliteit met het specifieke transmissiemodel. Het filtermateriaal is doorgaans gemaakt van hoogwaardig papier of synthetische materialen die ontworpen zijn om fijne deeltjes op te vangen en tegelijkertijd een goede vloeistofdoorstroming mogelijk te maken.
