    Belangrijke specificaties zijn onder andere de bedrijfsspanning (doorgaans 12V), de uitgangsspanning (vaak tot 30-40 kV), het ontwerp van de bobine (enkelvoudig, dubbel of bobine-op-stekker), het type connector en de montageconfiguratie.
