    Een pakking voor een EGR-klep is een afdichtingsonderdeel dat tussen de EGR-klep en de motor of de inlaat-/uitlaataansluitingen wordt geplaatst. De functie ervan is het garanderen van een gasdichte afsluiting, het voorkomen van uitlaatgaslekkages en het waarborgen van een goede werking van het EGR-systeem.

    Belangrijke specificaties zijn onder andere de vorm, afmetingen, materiaalsoort (zoals metaal, grafiet of composiet), temperatuurbestendigheid en compatibiliteit met het EGR-systeem. Het moet bestand zijn tegen hoge temperaturen en blootstelling aan uitlaatgassen.
