    FAQ

    Een afdichtingsring voor een klepstang, vaak aangeduid als klepstangafdichting, is een afdichtingsonderdeel dat op de klepgeleiders van de motor is gemonteerd. De functie ervan is het reguleren van de hoeveelheid olie die de verbrandingskamer binnenkomt en het voorkomen van overmatig olieverbruik.

    Belangrijke specificaties zijn onder andere de binnendiameter, de buitendiameter, de hoogte, het materiaal (zoals rubber, FKM of PTFE), de temperatuurbestendigheid en de compatibiliteit met de motor. Het moet bestand zijn tegen hoge temperaturen en continue klepbewegingen.

    Vervanging is nodig wanneer de afdichting versleten, uitgehard of lek is. Veelvoorkomende symptomen zijn blauwe uitlaatgassen, een verhoogd olieverbruik of vervuilde bougies.
