    Een V-riem is een rubberen riem met een trapeziumvormige doorsnede die wordt gebruikt om de kracht van de motor over te brengen op hulpcomponenten. De functie ervan is het aandrijven van systemen zoals de dynamo, waterpomp, stuurbekrachtigingspomp en airconditioningcompressor.


    Belangrijke specificaties zijn onder andere de lengte, breedte, profieltype, het materiaal en de compatibiliteit met het pouliesysteem van de riem. De riem moet voldoende grip, flexibiliteit en weerstand tegen hitte en slijtage bieden.
